WHO SEES YOU?

Why do so many overlook the people in their lives that really see you for who you are, really get you, deep to your core.  Whether it is friends, family, lover, why do we look and chase after those that are not interested necessarily in us, or our well being.  While we allow the ones that overlook the overbearing, irritating, obnoxious characteristics we seem to hide from everyone but them. You know the ones we can truly be ourselves around, the ones we can use, trample on and yet they still come around and still love us.  Not because we are super cool, but because they truly see us.  They see past the walls and masks we all try to hide behind.  They accept our stupid quirks and shrug them off because they know who we really are?

So many chase happiness when it is usually with them.  How many times in school did you blow off a really close friend to hang out with the "cool" crowd, yet never really felt as though you fit in.  Once you found that they didn't really care for you, more for what you had to offer, you realize that "true" friend is still there.  Why?  Because they see the real you.

I am very grateful and blessed for the few "true" friends that I have in my life, the ones that ignored my bitchiness (or honestly called me on it), that even when I was acting my strongest knew I was human and still hurt, the ones that are always there for me in the good and the bad and love me for me regardless of how I'm acting at the moment.  I hope they know I love them and see them for who they are as well!!!
