THE PAST

Leaving the past and moving forward is one of the hardest things to do.  We have an attachment, a knowing, a comfort with the past moving forward is usually always accompanied by fear.
I have learned recently through my daughter this doesn't have to be the case.  I watched her walk through sadness and uncertainty with grace. She stayed in gratitude for what she had, vowed not to live in the past, but to embrace the now.  She is in a totally different place living with so much confidence, love, and excitement for everything life continues to bring her way. Yet at the same time she enjoys her downtime and uses it wisely.  She has shown me that people, things and situations come and go in our lives and I am embracing the fact I have learned to appreciate my past and all that it brought to my life, but am just as grateful for the "new" that has entered.  When you truly live knowing you can't change others but have the ability to change your own mind and thoughts to positive thinking, you can pull yourself out of depression, hopelessness, and any other negative emotion you live in and appreciate everything around you!!  It makes life so much easier.

Just in the past few months, so many new things have cropped up, new opportunities, new people, and new lessons have entered the lives of my family and I couldn't be happier.  Here is to appreciating the past for its purpose in my life and to the "new now" my family lives in, I'm grateful for both and look forward to the future.
